Brussels Info

Brussels Attractions

Here is some Brussels Info that will get your planning underway. Brussels is a magnificant city. On my first trip to Brussels I couldn't get over it's beauty. The Grand Place at night is remarkable, many people believe it is the most beautiful square in Europe. Brussels is home to the Eu(European Union) and NATO and is generally considered the capital of Europe. At first glance you might think that Brussels doesn't have enough to see to make a vaction there worthwhile but that couldn't be farther from the truth. I really enjoy the mix of Flemish and French and the people are so frriendly. Brussels has over 80 museums, an exciting nightlife, and some of the best food in the world. Use the Brussels info below to make your Eurpean vacation a memorable one.

The starting point for any visit to Brussels is the Grand Place which was built as a merchant’s market in the 13th century.

The Grand Place is an obvious starting point on you trip to Brussels. It's considered the center of the city and is surrounded with cafe's and most of the main attractions are within walking distance. At night there is nothing more beautiful, the square is lit up and in the summer it hosts major events and acts as a flower market.
Just a short walk from the Grand Place is the Manneken Pis . He's the lttle boy taking a pee. There's not much to see but every so often they dress the little guy up and you can visit a museum which displays his costumes over the years. Once you have gotten over the Manneken experience go across the street and enjoy a Jupiler (beer).

When you walk into the Grand Place the first thing you notice is the Town Hall. The gothic architecture dates back to the 13th century. The spire rises 315 feet and is adorned by St Michael. Tours are available daily of the interior.

The Royal Palace is the home of the Belgian royal family. If the flag is flying the king is home. The palace overlooks Brussels Park. The Royal Palace is open to the public during the summer months.
