At the diamond Museum they tell you the story of how diamonds are created. They go through all the steps that lead to the diamonds that we normally see in jewelry. The purpose of the museum is to show how important Amsterdam has been in the diamond trade. The permanent collection of the Museum is called brilliant beauties. The permanent exhibition is broken down into 12 sections. The 1st section tells you how diamonds are formed. The next area looks at the diamond is a mineral. They then show you how diamonds are polished and the diamonds connection with gold. The 4 C's are clearly explained they are: clarity, color and cut. You also have a chance to see some famous diamonds plus the museum discusses how diamonds are distributed. Another display explains Amsterdam's rule in the diamond trade. And you also get a chance to learn whether giant diamond is genuine or an imitation. The final area shows you how glamour and diamonds go hand-in-hand.

 The museum also has many different temporary exhibitions throughout the year. During these exhibition to get to see diamonds from around the world.

One of the prized possessions is the Katana sword. The Katana is a Japanese sword made with Toronto glass covered with diamonds and rubies and set in 18 karat white and yellow gold.
