Major European Cities
On this page I’ll introduce you to major European cities and provide links to more detailed information. Not all of the action is in the capitals, therefore I have compiled a list of large cities that I think would warrant a visit. There are dozens of major cities that you can visit and I’ll provide you with the information that you need to make your decision.
Munich
Discover Munich!!
Any visit to Germany should include Munich in the itinerary. It is considered the capital of Bavaria and is the self proclaimed beer capital of the world. It is, of course, the home of Oktoberfest and the Bavarian spirit is alive throughout the city. Munich has a rich history which can be seen in its architecture and some great museums. It is also home to Europe’s largest urban park, the Englischer Garten. It’s proximity to the Alps makes it a perfect European Vacation Destination.

Venice
Discover Venice!!
I don’t have to convince anyone that they should visit Venice at least once in their life. Venice is one of those special cities that makes you want to go back for more. Here’s an example of a typical day in Venice just to get you thinking about a visit. I like to stay outside of the city and take the train early in the morning just as the city is waking up. I hop on a water taxi and head down the Grand Canal towards San Marco Piazza. Once in the square I get ready to explore this fascinating city. With my map in hand I make my way through the narrow streets taking in everything the city has to offer. I stop for a light lunch and a glass of wine and continue my trek. Around 4 pm as the city starts to empty I find a nice wine bar and take the time to watch the locals do there thing. I usually return to my hotel before going back to the city for a terrific meal in any one of the great restaurants. Give yourself 2 days to really enjoy your visit.
