Alright! Here's what I believe are the top ten attractions in Britain.
I know that trying to cover the whole island may seem a little silly
but I pretty sure I've put together a good list of some of the sights
that you need to see if you travel to Great Britain.
Like any site on the internet these are merely suggestions to help
you plan your European vacation. Use the information that I've provided
and then do some outside research to make yourself feel confident
that if you ever do visit one of these places you have made the
right decision. Now let's take a look at the top ten attractions
in Britain.
-
London - You have to see London and all it has to offer. Take in everything. Check out my list of the top ten attractions in London. Could there ever be another #1?
-
Edinburgh Castle - The castle is the perfect background for
a wonderful city. You'll feel like you've stepped back in time
as you stroll up the "Royal Mile" towards the castle.
Who knows you might even come across William Wallace. My personal
favorite on the list of the top ten attractions in Britain.
-
Bath - These are some of the best preserved Roman ruins anywhere. The city is set up for tourists and is a good starting point for anyone interested in discovering other Roman ruins in Great Britain.
-
Lake District - If you love the outdoors then a trip to the lake district might be your cup of tea. The Lake District is located in the Northwest of England near the Scottish border.
-
Moors - The most famous Moors in England are Dartmoor and Exmoor which are both located in Devon in the Southwest of England. Again these are great areas for people who love the outdoors but they are also popular with day visitors who like to visit the small villages scattered throughout the Moors, like Widecombe-in-the-Moor. Many great English myths have come from the Moors.
-
St-Andrews - If you love golf then you have to visit the oldest Golf Course at least once in your life. This is a magical place that makes you want to come back for more. When I stood on the 18th all I could imagine was Nicklaus and Watson walking up the fairway with the crowd cheering.
-
Whisky Tour - Back to Scotland once again for a truly amazing
tour of the highlands. Whisky tours are becoming more and more
popular and many companies are offering tours of there distilleries
while other tours go from distillery to distillery. Definitely
one of the top ten attractions in Britain.
-
Welsh B&B - If you happen to be traveling as a couple then a stop at a welsh B&B can make your vacation. Wales has such a unique culture which clings to the past. A great honeymoon destination.
-
West Country - If spending time on the beach is your idea of a great vacation then you should try the southwest of England, either Devon or Cornwall. The weather here is generally warmer than the rest of the country. They even have palm trees. Plus there's lots to do for the whole family. Take a day trip to the Moors for a change of pace.
- Oxford - For a change of pace Oxford can be just what the Doctor ordered. I always leave feeling a little more academic. This is a terrific place to just relax and take in some culture.
