The tourist crowds are starting to go away and the temperature is pleasant but can be cool at night. In the winter the focus shifts to the outdoors. The temperature can get quite cold with air cold air moving in from Eastern Europe. The tourist crowds are gone but the adventurous show up for skiing and other winter activities that dominate this country. Definitely consider Vienna as a stop on your European vacation.
